I've got answers

Before we chat, here are a few answers to the questions I get most often. Consider it a little peace of mind before you hit “send.”

When you're ready, I’m here. Let’s make something beautiful together.

What’s your photography style?

Creative, fresh, and editorial with a touch of fine art. I document real moments with an eye for beauty, joy, and the in-between. Think natural light, movement, emotion — images that feel alive, not posed.

What if I’m not comfortable in front of the camera?

You’re not alone  and that’s where I come in. My approach is calm, intuitive, and gently guided. We’ll create space for real connection so you can relax, be yourself, and actually enjoy the experience.

Do you travel?

Yes, often and happily. There’s no travel fee within the Tahoe area, and I’m passport ready for destination sessions. Travel is custom-quoted based on location.

Are you inclusive of all types of weddings and families?

Always. I welcome and celebrate diversity in all forms, cultural, religious, non-traditional, LGBTQ+, and more. Your story deserves to be told exactly as you are.

Do you offer albums, prints, or wall art?

Yes. I offer custom-designed albums, fine art prints, and museum-quality wall art  all crafted to showcase your images beautifully and last for generations.

Do I need to order prints through you?

Not required, but highly recommended. My images are calibrated to my pro lab, so albums, prints, and wall art will look exactly as intended — sharp, vibrant, and true to life.

How do payments work?

To book your date, a 50% retainer and signed contract are required. The remaining balance is due two weeks before your wedding or portrait session. Payment plans are available upon request. I accept credit cards and Zelle.

General questions

PORTRAITS + FAMILIES

Can we choose the location?

I’ll suggest locations that photograph beautifully and fit your vibe, size of group and season but if you have a spot in mind, I’m all ears. I always scout for the best light and plan ahead so everything flows seamlessly.

I've got answers

Yes, pets are welcome . Just let me know in advance, since they usually need a little extra planning or access.

Can I bring our pet?

I’ll guide you through everything  from what to wear ideas to choosing a location that fits your vibe (and works for things like easy access for older family members). My goal is to make this simple, relaxed, and enjoyable for everyone.

How do we plan the session?

Portrait galleries are delivered within two weeks

How long until I receive my gallery?

Occasionally. I offer them once or twice a year, but they’re reserved for my VIP clients. Join the list for first access:)

Do you offer mini sessions?

All images in your gallery are hand-edited, and depending on your session  group size, number of locations, time of hire. You'll preview anywhere from 75 to 200 images. Your collection includes a set number of downloads, with the option to upgrade or add à la carte items after viewing. You decide.

How many images will we receive?

What’s your photography style?

Happy, never gloomy. I bring a fresh, fashion-forward eye with a creative, documentary approach and a touch of fine art. It’s about capturing the energy, emotion, and in-between moments of your day , without stiff posing or cheesy interruptions.

Do you shoot film or digital?

Both. I’m a hybrid photographer. I use each intentionally at some weddings. All film is scanned and delivered with your digital gallery.

Do you take family formals?

Yes! I carve out time for 8–10 combinations, usually right after the ceremony. These portraits are part of your legacy, and I make the process quick and relaxed.

Do you photograph all types of weddings?

Yes, always. I welcome all traditions, identities, and celebrations  from multicultural weddings to non-religious ceremonies, LGBTQ+ love stories, and everything in between. Your day should reflect you, and I’m here for it, exactly as you are.

Do you work with a second
photographer?

For larger weddings or events with lots of moving parts, I may recommend a second shooter. It’s all about making sure your day is covered thoughtfully and fully.

Are you insured?

Yes. I can send your venue a certificate if needed.

Do we need to feed you during reception?

Yes please! Ideally when you eat, so I’m ready to go when you are.

I've got answers

Not required, but highly recommended. My images are calibrated to my pro lab, so albums, prints, and wall art will look exactly as intended — sharp, vibrant, and true to life.

Are we locked into a package?

Not at all. We can customize based on what’s most important to you. Every item is available à la carte, from albums to hours of coverage.

How many images will we receive?

Every wedding is unique, so there’s no set number but you can expect around 100+ images per hour. I’m there for the real moments, and if it happens, it’s captured.

Do you offer weekday or off-season discounts?

Sometimes. If you're planning something a little different , a weekday wedding,  or off-season date. Reach out and let’s chat.

What if we can’t meet in person before the wedding?

Totally fine. Most of my couples book remotely and we meet "officially" on your best day ever!

Yes. I offer custom-designed, artisan albums and fine art prints.  Crafted to preserve your images beautifully and meant to be passed down. All are available as à la carte options or included in certain Collections.

Do you offer albums or prints?

do you travel?

Absolutely. I photograph weddings across the Tahoe region and beyond . Whether it’s an intimate celebration nearby or a destination across the globe. Travel is custom-quoted based on location.

Where are you based?

I’m based in Lake Tahoe and also offer coverage in the greater Burlington and Quebec areas. With deep local knowledge, I can help you find the best light, locations, and timeline flow.

What gear do you use?

I come fully prepared with at least four Nikon cameras, a wide range of sharp lenses, and backups for everything. You’ll never see me scrambling for gear.

Do you photograph elopements?

Absolutely!  Elopements are some of my favorite days to document. There's freedom, intention, and so much room for real connection. As a Tahoe local, I know all the hidden gems, best lighting, and quiet spots that make for stunning, meaningful backdrops. If you’re dreaming of something intimate, off the beaten path, and true to you.  I’m all in.

part trois!

I’ve photographed over 600 weddings and have been in business since 2001. I bring calm, creative direction and years of experience to every celebration.

How long have you been a photographer?

Can you recommend other vendors?

Yes! I’ve worked with some of the best planners, florists, caterers, and venues in the area. I’m happy to share my preferred vendor list to help round out your dream team.

What happens if you can’t make it due to an emergency?

In the rare event I can’t be there, I have a trusted network of experienced photographers I can call on. Professionals who share my style and values. Your day will be in great hands, no matter what.

How many weddings would you photograph per year?

I take on a limited number of weddings each year. Usually between 18 and 25  to ensure every couple gets the attention, energy, and editing care they deserve.
Weddings are a creative marathon (beautiful, but no joke), and I believe in showing up fresh, focused, and fully present for every single one.

How many hours of coverage do I need?

Most weddings with 100–130 guests need around 8 hours to cover everything from prep to dancing. I offer 6, 8, and 10-hour collections — and custom options if your celebration spans multiple days or events.
Elopements and Micro weddings are also a custom collection.

What does a second shooter do at a wedding?

A second shooter captures moments I can’t be in two places for. Like the groom getting ready, guest reactions, or alternate ceremony angles. They’re there to enhance the story and give your gallery more depth and perspective.

How can I save money on wedding photography?

Skip the engagement session, wait on the album, or ask for contributions instead of gifts. Booking early locks in rates  and midweek weddings in the low season often offer more flexibility.

part quatre!

Plan for 2–3 minutes per grouping. It’s the gathering, not the snapping, that takes time.  I’ll keep things moving with calm direction.
