As a Lake Tahoe event photographer, I love when celebrations take place on the water. This 50th birthday party on the Tahoe Bleu Wave began at Chambers Landing Lake Tahoe and sailed north along the West Shore during golden hour. The air was calm and the light was soft, that perfect glow that makes everything shimmer. This is October in Tahoe! just perfect.
This 50th birthday party was one of those evenings that reminded me why milestones deserve to be photographed.
Lake Tahoe Event Photographer at Chambers Landing
Guests gathered on the pier for drinks before boarding the Tahoe Wave. We set out on Lake Tahoe just before sunset. The air was calm and the light was soft, that perfect golden hour glow that makes everything shimmer.
The group had chartered the Tahoe Bleu Wave for a private cocktail cruise, complete with champagne toasts, laughter across the lake, and that signature Tahoe sparkle on the water. For a few hours we coasted along the shoreline, chasing light and moments. Guests lingering on the deck watching the sun dip behind the Sierra.
Milestone events like this are some of my favorite stories to document. Whether it is a birthday, anniversary, engagement, or private dinner, these moments are worth capturing with intention. You gather your favorite people, set the scene, and before you know it, the night has flown by. That is where I come in, to preserve it in a way that feels effortless, beautiful, and true to how it felt.

Chambers Landing Lake Tahoe remains one of Tahoe’s most iconic spots for summer celebrations. With its west-facing views, warm evening light, and mix of history and lakefront charm, it is no wonder it is a favorite. I have photographed so many stories there through the years and it always feels like summer in its purest form, relaxed, elegant, and full of joy.

This evening was more than a birthday. It was a reminder that your story does not stop after the big moments, the wedding, the move, the new chapter. Life keeps unfolding and those chapters deserve to be celebrated too. I am now preparing a beautiful keepsake of this night amongst friends, an artisan heirloom album that will show the storyline of the day and your loved ones, the setting and details, the moments.
